The Seven

The Seven

Mid 1960s Honda RC 174 350cc DOHC six cylinder factory race bike

An allegorical illlustration based on Japanese mythology & literature,
the goddess Benten and "The Seven Samurai"

Benten (or Benzai*) was the only female of the Shichi Fukujin (or Seven Deities)
She is said to have married a dragon in order to render him harmless

The Seven Samurai roamed Japan, protecting the weak and defenceless.
An American movie, "The Magnificent Seven" starring Yul Brynner
and Steve McQueen was a version of this work.

Here. Benten joins with a Honda RC174 "Six" cylinder race bike,
next to unbeatable in the mid 1960s, to make " The Seven".

Their quest is to beat the "Dragon" (cancer).

(* Not to be confused with "Banzai!" or Bonsai.)
